The Harvard & the Legacy of Slavery (H&LS) initiative, in collaboration with Harvard College, is excited to launch the Du Bois Scholars Program, a fully funded, 9-week summer research internship on Harvard University’s campus. We are seeking scholars from select R2 and research focused Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The Du Bois Scholars Program will engage the inaugural cohort of scholars by providing dedicated hands-on mentorship and access to a rigorous research and learning environment that fosters their intellectual growth and personal development. Applicants will have the chance to select the research study area that aligns with their current studies and work directly with a Harvard faculty mentor and team.
Du Bois Scholars will participate in a cohort-based learning model designed to create a collaborative and enriching experience in the Harvard Summer Undergraduate Research Village (HSURV). In addition to the rigorous academic experiences, Du Bois Scholars will participate in community-based programmatic opportunities through H&LS and the HSURV.
Embedded in the Du Bois Scholars Program are professional workshops designed to develop and improve requisite research skills. The Du Bois Scholars Program will conclude with a final presentation to faculty mentors and colleagues.
