Thank you for your interest in the Du Bois Scholars Program! It is a fully funded, nine-week residential research internship at the Harvard College Summer Undergraduate Research Village (HSURV). While living on Harvard's campus, selected fellows will immerse themselves in a full-time research experience, enriched by professional development and career growth activities.
The Du Bois Scholars program launched in 2024 as part of the Harvard & the Legacy of Slavery (H&LS) Initiative and its commitment to implementing Recommendation 3 in the Report of the Presidential Committee on Harvard & the Legacy of Slavery, “Develop Enduring Partnerships with Black Colleges and Universities.” The program seeks to honor and uplift academic excellence through research-based collaboration with Harvard and HBCUs. The goal is to create opportunities for HBCU students to experience a unique and expansive summer research program with Harvard faculty mentors.
